The leak you can't see is the one that ends up in the product.
A plate can crack without a drop showing on the outside. Product and heating or cooling media sit one plate's thickness apart, and nobody knows they are mixing until a test or a complaint says so.
What that means for you
- A failed plate found on a test, not in the product.
- Gaskets and plates supplied by the same team doing the work.
- Heat exchanger service planned alongside your pump, valve and homogenizer maintenance.
A plate heat exchanger separates product from heating or cooling media with thin metal plates and gaskets. When a plate cracks or a gasket fails, the two sides can mix, and in a pasteurizer that is a food safety problem before it is a maintenance problem.
SIE Process-Solutions provides heat exchanger leak detection and maintenance for sanitary processors.
Leak detection
Plate defects are often too small to see and may not show as an external leak at all. Leak detection testing finds them so that failed plates can be identified and replaced before they cause a cross-contamination event or a failed inspection.
Maintenance, gaskets and plates
Gaskets harden and take a set with heat and cleaning chemicals. Plates foul and wear. We service the plate pack, replace gaskets and plates as needed, and put the unit back together to the correct tightening dimension.
We supply Alfa Laval heat exchangers along with plate heat exchanger gaskets and plates, and we sell and service heat transfer equipment from AGC Heat Transfer, APV and Waukesha Cherry-Burrell.
Part of a wider maintenance plan
Heat exchanger service fits naturally into a scheduled shutdown alongside pump, valve and homogenizer maintenance. We can plan the work as one visit.
Common questions
Do you supply replacement gaskets and plates?
Yes. We supply plate heat exchanger gaskets and plates, including Alfa Laval, and source parts for the other heat exchanger brands we service.
